Taking cues from this Seattle bungalow's utilitarian roots, The Philbin Group devised an informal garden with a simple pallet of cream, wine and gray-green plants. The landscape is made cohesive with an assortment of ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses that have multiple seasons of interest. The message of this garden is "welcome". Gates have concave, rather than arched, silhouettes. Walkways are randomly patterned, branches are outreaching and inviting, and a generous arbor-topped porch conspires to make an inviting home for adults and children alike.
